Job Description:

The role

This is the first Lead iOS hire. You will own the iOS technical roadmap, set engineering standards from scratch, and mentor the iOS team. No formal direct reports: influence comes from expertise, not hierarchy.

The split is about 90% hands-on coding and 10% technical leadership. You report to the MobApp Tech Lead and act as the iOS voice in every cross-functional discussion with Product, Design, Backend, and QA.

What you bring

  • 6+ years of commercial iOS development in Swift
  • Deep UIKit mastery plus solid SwiftUI production experience
  • Swift Concurrency (async/await) and Combine in production
  • Strong architectural thinking: MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, and the trade-offs between them
  • CI/CD ownership: Fastlane, GitLab CI or Xcode Cloud
  • Full App Store lifecycle: provisioning, TestFlight, submission, App Review
  • Testing culture: XCTest, testable code, high standards enforced in code review
  • iOS security: Keychain, Secure Enclave, biometric auth, certificate pinning, jailbreak detection
  • REST API integration with robust error handling, retry logic, token refresh
  • Proven technical leadership and mentorship with measurable results
  • High ownership mindset and clear cross-functional communication
  • English B2+

Nice to have

  • Fintech, crypto, payments or banking app experience
  • KYC SDK integration (Sumsub, Onfido) or payment SDKs (Stripe, Checkout.com)
  • Real-time data: WebSocket, SSE
  • Modular iOS architecture (Swift Packages, feature modules)
  • Firebase suite, performance profiling with Instruments
  • Experience interviewing iOS engineers
