Accounting and Financial Reporting Lead
Job Description:
Our client, a fast-growing fintech company, is hiring an Accounting & Financial Reporting Lead. You'll work alongside a Treasury Manager and a team of accountants, owning the numbers behind a fast-growing, multi-entity, multi-licence fintech — from statutory close to the regulatory financial reporting that keeps MiCA and PSD2 licences in good standing. You’ll join a finance team, reporting to the Head of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own monthly/quarterly close and multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation across group entities (Latvia primary, plus US/Canada/Poland)
- Prepare statutory financial statements per jurisdiction and coordinate annual audits with external auditors
- Manage outsourced accounting providers and maintain the general ledger/chart of accounts per IFRS
- Prepare and submit regulatory returns to Latvijas Banka (MiCA/PSD2 prudential reporting, own-funds calculations) and support FinCEN/FINTRAC/VASP recordkeeping requirements
- Own safeguarding/client-money reconciliation for PI and (pipeline) EMI obligations
- Build the reporting framework ahead of UK FCA regulatory obligations
- Own crypto-asset accounting: fair-value measurement, custody and wallet-to-ledger reconciliation across 90+ assets
- Reconcile settlements (card-processor, SEPA/SWIFT, correspondent banking) and B2B partner revenue-share/fee calculations
- Own AP/AR, expense management, and vendor payments
- Design internal financial controls for a regulated fintech and support treasury (cash positioning, bank/exchange reconciliation)
- Partner with Compliance and Legal on capital adequacy, safeguarding, and audit-readiness.
What We Expect
Must-have:
- A degree in finance and 5+ years of proven accounting experience; ACCA/CPA is an advantage
- Crypto accounting experience gained at a VASP/CASP-licensed entity or a trading company
- Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation experience across at least 3–5 jurisdictions
- Regulatory financial reporting experience (PI/EMI/CASP prudential returns)
- Fluent in English.
Nice-to-have:
- E-money / EMI safeguarding accounting experience specifically
- Crypto custody / wallet reconciliation tooling experience
- Big 4 or top audit-firm background with fintech/crypto clients
- ERP / accounting systems implementation experience (NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks, or crypto-native tools)
- Experience preparing for FCA prudential reporting.
What's in it for you:
- A rare opportunity: Own the full regulatory financial reporting function for a multi-entity, multi-licence fintech — keeping MiCA and PSD2 in good standing today, while building the EMI & FCA reporting framework from scratch ahead of the company's next licences. Real end-to-end ownership across jurisdictions, not a narrow ledger role.
- Salary: up to €4,200 gross/month, performance-based bonus
- Medical insurance, L&D budget, English classes, regular team-building activities
- A fast-paced, self-funded fintech company with no investor-driven pressure.
Interview Process:
1. Teamence - Initial screening
2. HR screen (30–40 min): Career narrative, Communication, Autonomy & Ownership, Lean structure fit.
3. Hiring manager interview (60–90 min): Technical depth, Past ownership examples, Problem-solving, Chemistry.
